We are making record investments in health care, the well-being of seniors, poverty reduction, and housing.
Record high investment in health care of $4.1 Billion

  • $620M over 10 years to transform health information management infrastructure.
  • $10M to help recruit and retain health care professionals.
  • Adding 20 new drugs to provincial drug plan.
  • $1.3M mobile primary care clinics to travel to communities with limited access to primary care.

  • $50M for the Housing Loan Development Program.
  • $36M+ over four years to build 100 new provincial-housing homes in Corner Brook, Central Newfoundland and Labrador West.
  • $21M in cost-shared funding to support individuals and families with rental assistance in private market.
  • Continued support for the First-Time Homebuyers Program.

$1.1 Billion for infrastructure projects creating close to $600 million in economic activity.

  • $13M to build a new indoor domed turf facility which will include exercise rehabilitation, as well as allow for year-round sports and recreation activities.
  • $35M for capital equipment improvements at health care facilities.
  • $41M in 2024-25, and $146M over the next three years for new schools in Cartwright, Kenmount Terrace, Portugal Cove-St. Phillips, and Pilley’s Island.
  • $500K for the planning of a new multiplex recreational facility in the St. John’s Metro Region.

  • $27M for continued implementation of the early childhood educator wage grid.
  • $16M+ for projects to increase the number of child care spaces.
  • $298M to Memorial University for its core operating grant.
  • $71M to College of the North Atlantic for its core operating grant.

Budget 2024 includes more than $170M for workforce development so workers can continue to get the skills they need to secure good jobs, and so employers can meet the changing demand for skilled labour.
