Budget 2021 : How does it augur for insurance sector ?

Financial year 1920-21 has proven to be the most difficult ever in our lifetime. Covid-19 pandemic which started as a health crisis in the initial months of 2020, soon became an economic crisis post prolonged spell of lockdowns. We witnessed our economy going into recession for the first time. In spite of the fair possibility of a "V" shaped recovery, the country would not regain its economically for few more years. In such a scenario, where expectations were running high from all sectors, presenting a budget was not an easy task for Madam N Sitharaman, our Finance Minister. The government has tried its best to give a direction of growth and continued sustainability by giving more emphasis on infrastructure building, asset monetisation & improving healthcare system. The market reacted positive with Sensex going green & majority of the analysts gave a thumps up to the budget.
