Bucket list goal done!

I'm feeling ecstatic and grateful today. The Red Heeled Rebels thriller series now has its own Amazon store! (USA only)

This is the culmination of ten years of work. And boy, am I glad I did the work. My thriller series is now complete.

The Red Heeled Rebels series cuts across four continents, touching on many places I've lived in or travelled to in my life.

Did you know 48% of trafficked children are sold by their own families (~International Labour Org)? It's horrifying, anyway you look at it. Girls have it the worst, given many cultures still treat females as a burden, as second class.

I wanted to tell the stories of the girls and women around the world whose voices are silenced by their own cultures, their societies and many times by their own families.

These were children I sat next to in school buses, girls I went to school with in Africa and Asia, women I'd worked with in Asia and Europe.

This series was on my bucket list of things to do before my time is up. I was compelled to write it. And now it's done, it feels incredibly good!

It took me two years to write the first novel, then one year to write the second. Then, I took an unplanned, two-year detour to write a travel anthology, a novella and a complete nonfiction series of five books, four of which got published.

The businesswoman in me told me I had to write that nonfiction series, while the nine-year-old in me wanted to go back to my novels.

So I did. The remaining novels came out faster and faster. I can now write 80,000 words in 3 weeks. And this is where it's all at now:

This month, I'm excited to start a brand new mystery series. It's my small attempt to follow in the footsteps of Agatha Christie whose books I devoured as a child.

My mystery series will have a strong, sassy, spunky, no-nonsense Asian female protagonist who was born in Africa, and comes with a diverse cast of amazing friends and a blended family from around the world.

I think the world is ready for a kickass female Asian protagonist solving mysteries, don't you think so?
