Bucket List With a Generational Purpose

Trooper Ron Jones first came to our attention as we were researching the stories of some of the men who are currently members of The Buffalo Soldier Organization. It quickly became apparent that he was a man of determination and strength coupled with a caring spirit for his past, present, and future generations. He briefly shared information about himself and about his desire to provide his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with stories about him that would motivate them long after his departure from this earth. ...But his caring spirit reaches well beyond just his family, he is equally concerned that young Black boys/men see and hear stories that will inspire them to create a life filled with positive stories about themselves that can be passed down through generations.

Trooper Jones rode a bicycle from the Chicago Pier to the Santa Monica Pier traveling along The Famous Route 66. He says this was something that was on his bucket list and at age 66 he started the Journey. The story of this journey was carefully chronicled. What’s on your bucket list? What stories will your family tell about you and your bucket list now and for generations to come?
