#Bucha (post 2) After visiting #Vorzel we went to Bucha, and the situation in Bucha is far more complicated than in Vorzel. All of the bodies were already collected from the streets. We were very thankful to the Ukrainian police, military, ritual services and local volunteers that we have not seen #Buchamassace. We only saw many destroyed civilian vehicles, some destroyed houses and apartment buildings. In particular, Russian army destroyed a brand new apartment complex Continent, which is very close to my place for no good reason, there were no fighting there, they probably just had some fun.

My apartment complex also survived the Russian aggression. There were several artillery shots made at the building but the damage is minor. In our yard we were greeted by our neighbors who were already trying to give some order to the destroyed vehicles that were put by Russians on the side to protect their armed vehicles, and also to secure looted by the Russian army apartments.

Most of people from our building fled when Russians came, but 12 people including several children stayed all the time without electricity, connectivity, heating, hiding in the basement most of the time, and going back to their apartments from time to time to grab some food and clothing.

Russian army had a base in our building in the second block and did not allow any people who lived there to visit their apartments. Another base Russians had in the kindergarten just around our building.

Our neighbors were very happy to see us, and that people are returning to Bucha. And that their life under Russian occupation is over. We spent probably an hour talking to them. We asked if they need anything, and the response was that they are fine. The only thing they want to take a hot shower, and it is around one month since they had it the last time.

On our block our neighbors saw bodies of three civilians, they don`t know who those people were and why they were shot. Also they we aware of another two people killed by the Russian army.

The connectivity has restored just a couple of days ago, and most of the bodies found in Bucha are still not recognized.

We went to check what is inside the building and see the Russian world by ourselves. The Russian army broken into around 90% of the apartments in our apartment complex. The doors were extracted from the brick and mortar completely and were laying on the floor, personal items were all around, Russians broke to some apartments twice (our neighbors fixed the door and it was broken again), as if they forgot to take something during the first time. They took instruments, laptops, video card and perfume from my neighbor with whom I came in. The full account is still remained to be discovered as most of the neighbors have not returned to their apartments.

By some miracle my apartment, and other apartments on my floor remained untouched. When I called my neighbors from the apartment next to mine to tell them that their flat remained intact, they started crying over the phone. They told me that I was better than Santa with these news.

Overall, our neighbors organized and are helping each other to fix the doors and prevent further looting. They also patrol the premises, repairing broken windows on cars, tolling cars to the service stations. I think our yard and our house looks much better now.

I believe that despite all of the atrocities Bucha went through it will recover as a great town it always was.
