Buc-ee will hold its Groundbreaking on Nov. 17 in Athens, Alabama
The fourth Buc-ee’s store will open in Alabama just a few days after the ground was broken on the third store. An official groundbreaking is scheduled for 1 P.M, November 17 in Athens for a new Buc-ee’s travel center.
In addition, the billboards in the area feature the beloved beaver mascot. As part of a 60,000 square foot retail space and 250-foot long car wash, 120 fuel pumps were approved by the Athens Planning Commission in June.
At least one Buc-ee location will open in Athens by 2023, according to the company’s website. With 74,000 square feet, the new store will be the world’s largest convenience store when it completes in Sevierville, Tenn. At 66,335 square feet, it will surpass the record held by the Buc-ee’s in New Braunfels, Texas.
With locations in Baldwin County, Leeds, and one planned for Athens, the Texas-based, Texas-sized convenience store has expanded throughout the South. We are considering the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and one just opened in Calhoun, Ga., about 40 miles east of Rome, about 40 miles from the Alabama state line. Buc-ee’s has a third location in Warner Robins.
