The Bubble Teams to Watch in Tournament Action Today

There are several bubble teams playing for their NCAA Tournament lives today.  I will examine several of them below and give my prediction of whether or not they can survive and advance or if they will be on the outside looking in on Selection Sunday.

N.C. State may have put themselves back in the Tournament with yesterday’s big comeback win over Clemson but they may need to upset Virginia to lock in a Tournament berth.  I don’t see the Wolfpack winning and predict they will be sweating it out on Sunday night.  Florida most likely needs to win two SEC Tournament games to secure a bid. They have a very winnable game today against Arkansas but then have to face LSU should they be victorious this afternoon.  The Gators did beat LSU during the SEC Regular Season but I find it unlikely they will be able to do it again so I think Florida will be looking at an NIT bid this season.

Several other teams that have tough games today include St. John’s, Georgetown, and Indiana.  Both the Red Storm and the Hoyas probably need a few more wins to solidify their spot in the Big Dance.  I think the Red Storm will come up short against Marquette as even though they have already beaten them twice this season it is extremely tough to beat any team three times in one season.  The Hoyas will most likely prevail over Seton Hall but will have a tough time getting past either St. John’s or Marquette as the Hoyas probably need two more quality wins to secure their spot in the Tournament.  That leaves us with Indiana. Indiana plays Ohio State in the first game of the 2nd round of the Big Ten Tournament today.  If the Hoosiers can beat the Buckeyes and somehow upset the Michigan State Spartans for the 3rd time this season tomorrow afternoon in Chicago they could be included in the Tournament field when it is announced on Sunday night.  I know this sounds crazy but it could definitely happen.  I am looking forward  to all of today’s games just like everyone else.
