1. Colombia CRC updates technical standards for mobile terminal equipment

The Colombian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (CRC) issued Notice No. 155 to update the technical standards for mobile terminal equipment (MTE). The main update is the addition of 5G frequency bands n77 (3300-4200 MHz) and n78 (3300-3800 MHz).

2. Pakistan PTA announces opening of Wi-Fi 6E frequency band

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) announced the opening of 6 GHz band for license-free use for RLAN and Wi-Fi6E band (5925-6425 MHz) for use by RLAN or Wi-Fi.

3. Saudi Arabia SASO updates requirements for smartphone chargers and electronic devices

Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has updated the following HS Code requirements, requiring applications to be submitted in accordance with the standards for relevant electronic devices and smartphone chargers (SASOIEC 62680-1-2:2017; SASO-IEC 62680-1-3:2017) by August 1, 2024. SASO will begin reviewing applications on August 1, 2024, and the Certificate of Conformity must be updated by October 1, 2024.
