BTC: No, Santa does not exist, sorry... But Lucifer...
For all of those who know me, I’m a big sponsor of Blockchain, as a technology, and not a sponsor of various blockchain usages like crypto-currencies (I know, it started there, thanks), ICOs, DEFI and all.
I’ve skipped a heartbeat each time I read an article or heard someone praising the greatness of cryptocurrencies.
I’m not saying it is Evil either, but to me it has slipped on the wrong side now.
Never the less, when I looked at BTC price today, I wanted to say 2 things.
One remind to all the people that claimed that BTC is a great investment tool, well, -50% in 6 months doesn’t really meet my criteria. I know, regular finance can also crash, this is not the point.
Here, crypto currencies are sold as ‘regular finance system barriers’, which they are obviously not.
There a clear lie on the product
Second, is a thought to people who purchased BTC on the left hand part of the graph.

Obviously, they lost money. Or will.
And to whose benefit? People who sold them the BTCs earlier on… and who make often extravagant profits…
Profits taken from where? From their next of kin’s pocket, their neighbours. And often hard earned money. Years of savings.
And some people say it is not a big sting, a big scam? Not exactly a ponzi scheme, but a clear con artist job. And some of them, the most “visible” ones are still put on a pedestal by the very same people who got conned. Nice touch.
So please, crypto currencies are just like the Casinos. Some will be making a fortune, but it is not you, and it will be at your expense.
You like to gamble, fine, no problem. But do it in full conscience, with limits.
Nice day to you all.

I wonder how many "investores" simply put money into bitcoins because the alternatives didn't look all that inspiring in the short- and medium term. In other words, it's a "get rich quick" scheme and people really need to heed the advise: "if something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is". My $0.2.
