Hello Hello Hello,
Welcome back to my newsletter. Thank you so much for taking your time to open this and read it.
Last month was really something else only for me. I have started working on my website, cooking, doing assignments like a pro, giving presentations without any prep, I'm able to bear the winter here, and I'm creating content consistently. My Instagram reels have reached over 10,000 new followers and I have got over 50k impressions.
You should check out my profile and follow: https://www.instagram.com/bhumik.thakkar/
I have seen myself grow and get better at so many things, be it cooking, studying, making content, networking and even giving job interviews. A growth which I want to double in the coming weeks and want to start exploring and learning new things in life. Like other international students, my answer to the question, “Why Canada? “ is not a work visa and better salary. My answer is personal growth, I was too comfortable with my life in Mumbai and as good as my life could get at the age of 22, I knew I am getting comfortable and stopping myself from growth. Last year I would not even try to make my own tea or breakfast and today I can do all the house chores, study and work. It’s time consuming & tiring but I enjoy this type of lifestyle because somewhere I know this type of hustle and work is what helps me have a more controlled, stable and growing life. Usually one works and thinks that their pay is what defines their success, but for me that is not the case, I have worked from the age of 18, done a few fanciest gigs early on in life in the city of dreams and have had full freedom to do whatever I want, so for me success is to be able to do the things that I like and support the people around me to do the same. Yes money is important but being able to do your favorite things is what matters the most. Consistently doing what you love in a disciplined manner can help you become a professional and give you happiness, when the money starts coming in then you can also be called the so-called successful person. I had started watching a lot of media personality’s podcasts at the age of 17-18 and that's what has given me this mentality. People like Zakir Khan, Tanmay Bhat, Vir Das, Prjakta Koli, Bhuvan Bam, and many such personalities have taught me one thing through their podcasts and interviews, which is to keep trying new things, to keep being consistent and be wise with your finances. They followed their heart, consistently gave 100% to be good at what they really wanted to do, and that led them to be what they are today. These are just a few names that I have mentioned but there are really a lot of media personalities of whom I have watched podcasts and picked up a few things to learn.?
So I am also trying to be consistent in creating content, writing this newsletter, cooking, staying in touch with my friends and family from another country, all this while working and studying in a cold country. Made so many new people as my friends, unlike my previous college, here the teachers think I am a good student and I have control over what I do in my day and that’s what made me write this piece, I am doing what I like, trying to learn new things and attempting to be consistent at everything. Yes there are days where the mind just needs a break and that’s when I try to relax, go for a walk, sleep for 10 hours, watch netflix or go grocery shopping.?
Consistently doing something not only makes you better at it but also starts showing you results. The more you do something new, the more you fail, learn, and slowly master it. Be it cooking, interviews, client meetings, content creation or even cleaning your room, how good you can get at it is completely dependent on how frequently you do it.?
I saw some really good podcasts, you should also try to watch it:?
