BSME: Serving the Region
Intention. Sounds simple. Yet our intentions as leaders often make or break a team, a school or an organisation. And while intentions are important, essential even, it is equally important to know, not just ‘what’ we intend, but ‘why’ we have set this intention and ‘how’ we aim to achieve it. Quite intentionally, I am not referring here to business or strategic plans, objectives or measurable outcomes. Intentions go deeper than the operational elements of our schools and organisations. At their core they reflect passion, drive, heart, our raison d’etre. Intentions communicate the why-we-do-what-we-do. They are the day to day manifestations of vision and mission statements.
This is my third year at @BSME, a membership organisation which proudly supports the best-of-the-best in British international education in the region. This year, it is my intention to engage with members, colleagues and partners in new ways: communicating the ideals and outcomes of the organisation, engaging in educational debate which makes us stop and ask the big questions, sharing educational information which supports school improvement, and, educational reflections for the sheer joy of it.
Watch this space for info on Safeguarding in the coming week; what better intention than to begin by keeping our students safe.
