BSJ 'perspective' article on the use of building simulation tools in design
I am happy to announce that a joint article with Clarice Bleil de Souza is now published in Building Simulation: an International Journal (Springer/Tsinghua). This is a "perspective" paper, which reflects on some of the observations we have made after being research-active in the area of using simulation to support building design for substantial time (in my own case, starting with my PhD at TU Delft back in the mid 1990ies and my work with Fried Augenbroe at GeorgiaTech, and then continuing in both the UK and now in Sweden). We feel that this field really needs a bit of a shake-up, with many recent efforts going round in circles and ignoring the lessons we have learnt over the last 30 years. The perspective paper is intended to be "constructively provocative" and hopefully will ignite some serious discussion. If not, count on us to be back in this space and stir the fire!

9 个月Great article on a super important perspective - how can performance tools align with how designers actually work? This article of my colleagues and mine might shed further light on why the research on tools has not yet been able to bridge this gap: https://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.rser.2024.114407 Clarice Bleil de Souza
