Wow areseholes
Ladies and Gents, how do you deal with a fellow workmate who is out to take your job and position. I am a true believer in experience counts.
Just want to tell you a story of a friend of mine, his/her will be called X.
X got employed by an oil company having worked extensivly for Major Wellhead corporations.
He/She was then asked to carry out major repair jobs on company owned equipment but with no budget but done the job.
He/She carried out all operations including but not limited to
High H2S Wells over 16 %
Cutting wellheads off with no tools
Emergency blowouts when company has been told unsafe
Securing wells because the equipment supplied is so cheap
The man has now been told "Services not needed" younger guy has come in.
For all these services, my oesonal opinion is minimum 10 years.
How can a wllhead guy who cannot pass IADC Well Control take a position to carry out these types of operations.
We need to start sticking up for ourselves, find the companies who hire crap and go for what we know,
Paul.

7 年maybe person "X" had a very bad attitude while working and always uses his incredible experience as his excuse when things went wrong, which -btw- didn't help much in his position, and made himself redundant so the Co found a, no experience, lower cost, new person "Y" to do his job, just guessing...??

7 年Bottom $ Paul Thomas. It has always been the same. It doesn't matter if you blow a few up along the way. They are cheaper and can easily get another to take their place. Once our cheap friend gets a handle on things and demands more $, he too will be the victom of his own success. Companies (or should I say many companies) don't care so long as they get someone out to do the job - whatever way it takes. They tell us they are not like that and it needs to be done safely and properly but if we speak up..... There are some good companies around who will play by the rules.
