Joe Parker mentioned three important areas to consider about your business, in one of our recent business planning 101 sessions:
Directors/owners?
Don’t forget it’s your business!?
Make sure that your thinking of your needs and putting your hard earned profit to work. You may be taking a salary and/or dividends, but maybe aren’t making pension contributions. Pension contributions can be an alternative way to extract profit from the business.
Based on the slides he went through, you can potentially pay up to ￡60,000 gross per tax year into a pension (subject to appropriate rules) in the 23/24 tax year.?
Potential benefits may include…
Corporation tax - ￡0 (a saving of between 19-25%)
Income tax - ￡0 (a saving of up to 45% depending on your income tax band)
Dividend tax - ￡0 (a savings of up to 39.35% depending on your income tax band)
Potential growth on pension due to investment returns
At retirement you?can take 25% of pension tax free, 75% subject to potential income tax?

Instagram is currently testing a 'Nearby' story feature. This would allow us as users to see stories from other users and businesses who are near us.?
Platforms such as TikTok are already trialling it.?
This could be a huge way for local businesses to share about their business with those around them and those coming into the area.?
Could this be the boost we all need and keep on the message of buying locally and working with those locally too??
Although there are no major updates yet officially from Instagram this could be a really exciting way to integrate online and the real world.?
My big question would be, how will this change tourism and how we research, where to go, what to buy and what to eat in our surrounding areas??
