Forgive me for my absence. I wish I could tell you I've been inundated making my 6/7 figures to be writing articles but the truth is.... I've been out of sorts....
About a week ago I realised what it was.... this feeling.... almost feeling muted. Which is absolutely unlike me! I tried to summarise it here.
Now as a Mindflick spotlight practitioner I know that my behaviour preference is 'forceful'. This means that my strengths are to be outspoken, firm, direct, purposeful and straightforward and yet I felt I had to tame my strengths.
Those who know me, know me to not shy away from voicing my thoughts, and yet I was playing to my mindset preference of prudency.
I was playing to my strengths of being cautious, wary, careful in my approach, especially on socials.
Now as a business owner, it is a necessity to be on socials and yet, there is so much noise! So much.

I wanted to scream.
As an NLP Practitioner I know that we filter everything we are exposed to. We delete, generalise and distort everything based on our experiences so I decided to do the same with where I was up to in my business.
I began to delete people, groups and hero worshippers from my feeds than no longer brought me joy or that no longer served me at this stage of my business.
I looked at what gaps were missing in my business and leant into people, groups and memberships that would fill that gap.

I had generalised all socials and yet when I took a step back, I observed the ones I was enjoying and the ones I wanted to invest time in. Not just because it was lead generation tactics but because I was interested in the people I had connected with and genuinely interested in what they had to say and the relationships I was building.
I had to choose the ones I wanted to be on rather than those I was TOLD to be on.
Finally, where my mind had become distorted by thinking I needed to be in every world of influencers or current trendsetters, I looked back on my list of gaps and really observed the core values of people I followed and wanted to work with in the next stage of my business.
As I continue this discovery, I am choosing wisely about who’s bed I jump into. I came to this realisation here.
I have been fortunate this year to have been awarded funding for support for my own business through Access to Work (A2W) and after 6 years of financing everything myself. You can find out more information here if you feel you qualify.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work with people both as a Coach as they navigate the A2W funding as well as being able to work with fabulous people myself to grow the business to the next stage.
These realisations could not have come at a better time as I continue to support business owners to navigate self-employment whilst swimming in shark invested waters.
So, I am back people. With an even stronger resolution to support people in their first 2 years of business so that they get good, ethical coaching and mentoring which is cost effective and that will enable them to build an unshakeable foundation for their business. ?
By investing in coaching with me together we can delete what no longer serves them, get specific about what they want without generalisation and we can alter any distorted thinking to know and BELIEVE that they are the greatest asset in their business, regardless of what the social gurus tell us!

7 个月This is a great piece Becky Field. I'd never heard of Mindflick Spotlight, or the funding scenario's etc. I also hear you and get what you mean about some of these scenarios. In particular deleting stuff, and focusing just on groups, people and support where it is more relevant etc. So keep doing what you do, and thanks for sharing.
