Brushstrokes & Footprints - Sustainability in Art Consulting

The push towards sustainability has never been more critical. Across industries, countries, and communities, our generation is focused on treating Mother Earth with the dignity she deserves (it’s the only planet we’ve got, after all).

In the world of commercial real estate, builders and designers are constantly faced with the challenge: How can they make choices that benefit our planet while still completing projects that are beautiful and profitable.

Enter Indiewalls.

Since we opened our doors in 2011 we have incorporated sustainable practices in the heart of our business, making us a natural partner for forward-thinking commercial properties aiming to "green" their practices without sacrificing quality.

Here's how:

Championing Local Artists and Economies

Our ethos prioritizes sourcing from local talent. When you collaborate with Indiewalls, you're making a conscious choice to invest in local communities and economies. This means fewer intermediaries, more direct support, and the kind of cultural relevance that only local talent can bring to a project.

Slashing CO2 Emissions with Local Sourcing

The environmental cost of transporting art and artists can be substantial. By collaborating with local artists for murals, sculptures, and other significant installations, we cut down drastically on freight for the artwork and on air travel for the artists.?

Domestic Production = Greener Choice

Our production base in New York is strategic: it means reduced transportation needs and a significant cut in emissions. Compared to many competitors who produce artwork overseas, we estimate a whopping annual saving of 20 tons of CO2. To put that in perspective, this is akin to preventing the burning of 22,403 pounds of coal each year or saving enough energy to charge 2.4 million smartphones.

Proudly Contributing to LEED Certified Properties

Our commitment to sustainability is not just in our operations but also in the projects we undertake. We have been proud contributors to many LEED-certified properties including:

While our projects span regions and sectors, a consistent theme remains: Sustainable choices don't mean compromising on quality, aesthetic, or vision.

In a world where every choice impacts our environment, partnering with Indiewalls means you're making a choice that benefits the planet, supports local communities, and - perhaps paramount - ensures your property is filled with world-class art.

Join us in making our world greener, one artwork at a time.
