Frankfurt brush abrasives are usually installed on automatic polishing machine, handheld grinder or radial arm polishing machine for achieving an aesthetic textured finish.
Generally, our Frankfurt brushes come in three types: SILICON CARBIDE BRUSH, STEEL WIRE BRUSH AND DIAMOND BRUSH.
1. Silicon carbide brushes are classified as A, AA and AAA in quality.
a. From A to AAA, silicon carbide brush filaments become more densely arranged for better outcome.
b. Three quality levels chiefly differ in working life and finish result. That is to say, best quality means best result attained in lifespan and texture.
c. Silicon carbide brushes have a large number of filaments to increase flexibility and productivity, and they are recommended to be applied to marble, limestone, travertine and other soft to medium hardness stones to bring a soft antique finish.
d. Silicon carbide brushes come in grits ranging from 24# to 2000#, offering a broad selection as per customer request.
e. Silicon carbide brushes should work at low RPM with some amount of water and very little pressure.
2. Steel wire brush is a kind of Frankfurt brush abrasive that combines silicon carbide and steel wires. It is considered to be moderately aggressive for removing polished or sawn marks on slabs and leaving a nice and clean finish on slabs.
Steel wire brush comes in single grit.
3. Diamond brush is an extremely aggressive and durable choice designed for engineered stone, extremely dense granite and other hard natural stones. It does an excellent job for breaking/removing the polish on slabs and helps leave a different texture.
Diamond brushes come in grits ranging from 60# to 120#.
