Witchwood House submerged in 18 inches of sewage water

On 15 December 2019, whilst investigating an issue of no heating and hot water to one residential property, TBG discovered the Boiler Room of Witchwood House submerged in 18 inches of sewage water. The leak took the Boiler Room offline, resulting in approximately 60 – 80 flats, (primarily elderly residents), with no heating and hot water. Our engineers immediately contacted our client Lambeth Council who authorised us to resolve the issue without delay. A sewage tanker was mobilised and the TBG team worked late into the night, alongside a 3rd party contractor (Simply Loos) and Thames Water, to ensure that the Boiler Room and garages were cleared of contaminated waters. On 16 December 2019 it was established the site was going to remain offline for a long period of time, so TBG immediately began the coordination of temporary Boilers and new pumps. On 17 December 2019 TBG began the installation of the boilers and hot water circuits, which was achieved by working closely with Cross Rental Boiler Hire, and enabled the supply of heating to the residents. The installation process continued into the next day and again the TBG engineers worked late into the night to ensure that all flats were restored. They also checked the nearby nursery to ensure heating and hot water was available. TBG would like to say a huge thank you to following amazing staff members, Dan Palmer, Paul Cavender, Hasip Kemal, John O’Mahoney, Stephen Hill, Dan Castle, Anwar Arzomand and Jack Lee not forgetting the support of Lambeth Council, working in partnership with us.
