Bronis?aw Krzysztof - The Sculptor
Today we present to you an outstandingly talented artist - sculptor and also an educator - Bronis?aw Krzysztof. In the 1970s, the artist graduated from the Zakopane High School of Visual Arts named after A.Kenar, and then studied at the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he graduated with honours from the studio of prof. Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz in 1981 (the same year he became a teacher of sculpture at the Kenar's State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Zakopane).
Already during his studies in Warsaw, his talent was recognized with a distinction in Jarnuszkiewicz's studio and a distinction of the Faculty of Sculpture.
During his career he has won over 13 awards, including Silver medal "Gloria Artis" in 2016. His works are permanently located in more than 10 institutions, among others in the collection of the Vatican Museum in Rome.
According to some, his works are better known abroad than in his native Poland. His work touches upon the phenomenon of adding to classical forms as much as capturing them. The artist combines in his multidimensional forms references to classical representations and signs, symbols and cultural metaphors. His works are devoid of one official page from which they should be viewed - the invoices of all pages are intended to be admired, causing various tensions in the recipient. Each of the sculptures by Bronis?aw Krzysztof, placed in a certain space, changes it in a certain amazing way, absorbs it and adapts it to its own content, evoking a need for reflection in the viewer.
Let's just take a look at the character in the photos.
Her simplified silhouette itself results in a question about her identity, we wonder who this girl is? Maybe she is some kind of ancient Goddess, in a self-confident straightened pose, with her leg protruding in a sensual gesture, almost dancing. She casts her ideal on the beholder, as it is difficult to take eyesight away from her long, slender legs clothed in a flowing fabric and from the graceful proportions of her body. However, there is also tension in this work - a certain unknown - hidden under the gesture of a hand. What does it mean?
It is precisely this outstanding craftsmanship and talent that testify to the sculptor's uniqueness.
Artist, Sculptor, Originator and curator of the arts.
