Broken wingtip following (very) hard landing

??A Boliviana Boeing 737-800 suffered severe damage to its left wingtip and lost its winglet during a heavy landing at S?o Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) on May 4th. The aircraft was operating flight OB-736 from Santa Cruz (Bolivia) to Sao Paulo. According to local sources, the left wingtip of the aircraft suddenly broke down after landing, and separated from the rest of the airplane.

??The Bolivian operator made an official statement to try and explain what happened to flight OB-736: “The aircraft suffered high vibration at the moment of the landing and suffered damages on its external and internal structure, which are currently being evaluated through an investigation process.”

??Boliviana de Aviacion, commonly known as BoA, is the flag carrier airline of Bolivia and is owned by the country's government. It operates an all-Boeing fleet consisting of Boeing 737s and Boeing 767s. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the 156 passengers and seven crew members of flight OB-736.
