Messaging 101

There are three steps to creating messaging that actually DOES something in your business. Because let’s face it; every entrepreneur-type gets sucked into hours of deliverables, habits, and behaviors that feel “busy” – but don’t actually bring in new clients to your docket.


Step 1: Stop. Doing. Things. That. Don’t. Move. The. Needle.

For so many of our clients, the slough of scheduling social media posts, bookkeeping, or sending out ultra-custom proposals and invoices sucks up infinite amounts of time.?

If you’re the CEO, you need to be doing CEO stuff.?

And one of those things has to be dialing in your messaging and experimenting with how you share that message. Pretty hard to do when you’re completely tapped out!

The solution: Delegate, delegate, delegate. Find a new software to handle your finances. Hire a VA to schedule your posts. These solutions certainly don’t need to break the bank–and they will more than make up for their costs in the time and energy that frees you up.


Step 2: Acknowledge a clear challenge your target audience is facing. (Think of this like walking up to someone and asking them to dance.)

Try different ways to build connection and inspire engagement.?

Think of this like the dance itself: Are you gracefully, gleefully gliding around the dance floor? Or are you clumsily counting down to the end of the song, or even hanging out on the wall next to the punch bowl? If it’s the latter, give yourself permission to fail. Take away all that pressure from yourself, and just start sharing and showing YOUR moves!


Step 3: Make yourself an easy YES; a no-brainer.?

Think of this like the moment when you ask your dance partner on a date at the end of the night after having an absolute blast. You already know the answer will be yes.

Messaging that consistently and easily moves the needle in your business boils down to understanding these three key elements and, over time, learning to do them all well.?
