Broken links Issue # 057
We all love a good website, don't we? But we don't like it when we click a link and that goes - Nowhere!
Fix or reduce redirects and broken links
If you have broken links on your website, missing resources or too many redirects, then this will impact the performance of your website. Try to reduce these wherever you can.
A good idea is to check all internal and external links to make sure they go where you want them to go, as well as incoming links, like from a sales page link of yours.
When you link to resources (a resource page on your website, for example), make sure it’s there and accessible.
You can setup redirects where necessary using your .htaccess file, and you can use an online tool such as Broken Link Checker to check for broken links on your site (or just ask me, I love link checking!)
Make payments easy
Do you operate an ecommerce store? Do you offer packages or services that people can buy online? If so, it is immensely important that the payment process is as simple as possible.
For each extra step or field your customer has to click, they will lose interest, get annoyed, and leave your site. For example, if you operate an accommodation business and don’t have a booking system with payment, you may lose bookings. If you sell products and there is no way to buy your products online, you may lose sales.
