Broken Brand Bandages

No appointments are scheduling.

Texts are missing in action.

New clients are staying away in droves.

Is your brand broken?

Ask yourself, on scale of 1 to 10, where you rank on these powerful differentiators:

1.??? Do you stand out from the crowd? ?????????? ??????????? ?????????My rank: ______

2.??? Is the problem you solve your “Golden Thread?”?????????? My Rank ______

3.??? Are you seen as “For Real?”????????????????????????????????????????????My Rank ______

Standing Out

You don’t have a choice if you want your brand to be seen, heard and unique. I recall at one of my first NSA conventions noticing a lady that always had a notable chapeau (hat) when she strolled into the room for a presentation. Like a lot of others, I asked her name. It was Patricia Fripp, a highly honored speaker that early on learned that difference is memorable. I’ve worn a VanDyke beard so long my own daughter wouldn’t recognize me without it. What can you do with your physical appearance to become more notable?

Your Golden Thread

Consultants and coaches solve problems. The most successful solve problems that cause prospects to search them out. They are known for solving a specific problem in a specific way. Their approach is something they are known for and speak about in a memorable way all the time. It is like my friend Larry, a leadership consultant who wrote a book about his golden thread: Sticky Leadership.

Or like the founder of Square Peg Consulting, Frank McShane, who positions himself as a Supply Chain Cash Guide. He may be the only Supply Chain Consultant who doesn’t focus on cutting costs but rather helps companies find cash in their supply chain.

Who Trusts you?

You can’t fake it until you make it. You have to have integrity. You have to tell it like it is. And you have to do that all the time. A wise man knows every thing but the shrewd one gets to trust with everyone. Wouldn’t you prefer to be the advisor that people say “She/He is the only one I’d trust with this.” You can if you put credibility first.

TheTakeaways:

1.??? Use appearance, logo, accessories and attitude to set yourself apart visually.

2.??? Be known for always pitching a singular named process that solves client problems.

3.??? How many people you know doesn’t count. All that matters is who trusts you.

Put Credibility first. Credibility leads to cash.
