The Brits are back in town

Dear Classic Car?Enthusiasts, Collectors and Followers
What an impressive start to February this was, with the exciting and glamorous Paris Retromobile event: it was so good to see the British dealer contingent stealing the show with some outstanding motor cars. It’s back to how it used to be, and the crowds were there out in force.
But… did we see any sales on the day?
Usually, the preview day is the most exciting, with a few deals being made, but that was not the case this year. We did, however, witness some sales and good cars changing hands.
Historically, the classic car market has shown periods of growth and stability, with any fluctuations driven by various factors including economic cycles, trends in consumer preferences, and shifts in investment strategies, as well as well attended shows, like Retromobile, for example.
However, it's always been essential to consult recent industry reports, market analyses, and expert opinions for the most accurate and up-to-date information on the current state of the classic car market and its growth trajectory.
We struggle with some so-called experts and their insipid reports, so keep an open mind (and keep your eyes open), as it's all looking quite positive for the future of the classic car market.
We also witnessed three of the big boys' auctions taking place with some interesting cars proceeding across the block alongside some quite questionable ones; as for the latter, we can understand why they were in the auction; we are still seeing cars being entered with no history support and limited knowledge of each car’s background.
What should we all be looking out for?
Nothing changes, you just need to focus on the documented history, every picture tells a story!
Unfortunately, owing to poor weather conditions, a recent long-standing RaceRetro show had to be cancelled, and we feel for everyone involved: a cancellation and the obvious disruption is not what any of us wants to see.
If you need some good, friendly, unbiased opinion for buying, selling or restoration work, please do let us know. We are always here to assist.
Happy motoring
Keith
