In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, the chorus of "I don't have enough time" becomes a convenient refrain for all the dreams and aspirations we set aside, art being a prime example. This excuse, while seemingly insurmountable, stands as a formidable barrier not just to our creative pursuits but to our sense of fulfillment. It's a narrative I once subscribed to, until I decided to challenge it head-on. Confronting this excuse required me to scrutinize its validity, leading me to an experiment that would drastically alter my perception: committing to just fifteen minutes a day to my art.

At the outset, the skepticism within me echoed loudly. How could fifteen minutes make any significant impact when the world told me I needed hours to create anything worthwhile? Yet, this skepticism was precisely what I needed to overcome. This small commitment became my experiment in breaking through old, limiting beliefs. The result was not just a boost in my artistic productivity but a profound realization about the power of incremental change. This tiny alteration in my routine demonstrated how shifting one aspect of my life could ripple outwards, influencing other areas in ways I hadn't anticipated.

The newfound momentum in my artistic endeavors began to permeate other facets of my life. As my creativity flourished within those allocated fifteen minutes, I found myself inspired to adopt healthier physical fitness habits and refine my personal organization skills. It was as if breaking through one cycle of excuses empowered me to dismantle others, setting off a domino effect of personal development. This journey into the arts revealed a broader lesson: the barriers we erect, fortified by excuses, often hold us back more than any external limitation ever could.

Delving deeper, I recognized that the roots of my excuses were entangled with fears: fear of failure, fear of change, and notably, how these fears influenced my self-identity. Understanding the psychology behind my excuses added depth to my transformation. It wasn't merely about finding time for art; it was about confronting the fears that shaped my view of myself and my capabilities. This introspective exploration was both challenging and illuminating, offering me a nuanced perspective on the barriers to success.

This journey taught me to confront my own excuses head-on, to recognize them not as insurmountable obstacles but as challenges awaiting solutions. The initial step, as small as it might seem, is often the most crucial. By shifting our perspective from seeing barriers as impenetrable to viewing them as puzzles to be solved, we unlock the potential for remarkable change. This shift in mindset is pivotal, transforming how we approach not only our creative pursuits but any aspect of life that feels constrained by the "not enough time" narrative.

Today, I challenge you to shift your perspective. Consider that committing just fifteen minutes a day to your art isn't a diminishment of its importance but a profound step toward unlocking your creative spirit. Yup, when your vocation becomes your vacation you’ll never work a day in your life so they tell me. I’ve not been working since 2010 roughly.
