If you’re from Michigan, you know the “Pure Michigan” campaign.?The commercials dot our television sets.?The voice of Tim Allen somehow hits the perfect stride to describe our beautiful state.
It would be easy to just keep running commercials in the hopes that they reach people.
But what I learned from David Lorenz is that you have to evangelize as well.
Reaching Out
Far too often, I see people out there that promise you can build a multi-million dollar business by not talking to anyone.
That might be true.?And those I would call unicorns.
But real businesses are built on relationships.
Dave knows this.?And he travels the globe to meet people with one goal in mind …
Get them to come to Michigan.
To the tune of $23 Billion each year.
That’s a lot of zeros.
When I think about my business, and my show, I start to wonder if the best way to grow my audience is to get out and meet people.?Talk to them.?Evangelize the show, the message, the take-aways at every opportunity I can get.
For anyone with a podcast or a YouTube channel ... the days of "Build it and they will come" have long since passed. You need to get your show out in front of people. To increase awareness at every opportunity.
In seeing the results that Dave is producing, it’s not hard to think that evangelizing might be the best route to go.
