Bringing Resident-Centered Nutrition to Life
?At Nutrition Therapy Essentials , we believe great care in long-term care starts with great food. The kitchen often gets the most attention during state inspections, so it’s important that we serve meals we’d proudly offer to our own loved ones. But why wait for compliance issues like F-tags to take action?
While many facilities have already made improvements, making your kitchen truly resident-focused can make a huge difference. By putting residents at the center of everything, you can make mealtimes one of the best parts of their day. A well-organized kitchen, backed by Registered Dietitians (RDs), not only creates a better dining experience but also makes state inspections easier.
Our goal is to provide personalized nutrition services to Long-Term Care (LTC) facilities—including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, group homes, and adult day care centers—while staying on top of regulations and ensuring high standards of care, focusing on residents makes them feel cared for and valued.
This approach also helps make state inspections run smoothly, especially in the kitchen where there’s a lot of focus. Instead of waiting for F-tags, we help you stay ahead with solutions that improve the dining experience and meet compliance requirements.

The Importance of Working Together
RDs play a crucial role in supporting resident-centered nutrition by collaborating with various facility staff. They work with administrators to ensure smooth operations, and with the Director of Nursing (DON) to monitor resident data like weights and feeding schedules. RDs also team up with Certified Dietary Managers (CDMs) to ensure meals meet residents’ needs while complying with CMS and Title 22 regulations. Additionally, RD’s work with social services to align nutrition plans with overall care. They coordinate with the activities director to include residents with special diets in events and consult with speech therapists to adjust diets for safety and nutrition and with MDS to maintain accurate Medicare documentation.?

Ensuring Quality Nutrition in Long-Term Care
By working together, our consultants and facility staff make sure every part of food service—from kitchen cleanliness to meal delivery—meets the highest standards. Personalized care planning, led by experienced RDs, not only helps residents stay healthy but also strengthens the facility’s Quality Assurance Program.
At Nutrition Therapy Essentials, we’re here to help long-term care facilities offer resident-focused nutrition that does more than meet regulations—it improves residents’ lives. When meals become moments of care and connection, everyone benefits.
