Bringing Love into the Boardroom

Bringing Love into the Boardroom

Let's talk about the ultimate power move missing in the boardroom game - LOVE! ?? Yes, you heard it right. Bringing Love into the Boardroom is the topic of this article. I can almost feel you tighten up as you read this. Calm down. This idea is not as radical as you think. Humour me a little here, please…

It's time to bring those warm and fuzzy feelings into our meetings and make the boardroom a love-fueled powerhouse.

In this fast-paced world of Zoom calls, spreadsheets, and strategic plans, it's easy to forget that behind every business decision, there's a human being - with feelings, dreams, and the occasional need for a coffee refill. Let's infuse a little love into those hard-hitting boardroom discussions.

Picture this: Instead of "Agenda Item 1," we could have "Operation Group Hug." ?? Let's be honest; a well-timed group hug can solve more problems than an endless PowerPoint presentation. The world could use more love, and our boardrooms are no exception.

Imagine your CEO starting the meeting with, "Good morning, team! Today's agenda is brought to you by the power of love and a dash of glitter. Let's sprinkle some positivity on those profit margins, shall we?" ???

In a world filled with buzzwords like synergy and optimization, why not add "Love Optimization" to the mix? Studies (that we just made up) show that a loving work environment leads to increased creativity, productivity, and an office culture that's as refreshing as a Friday afternoon happy hour. ??

And let's not forget the most important factor in any successful business equation —the people —because who wouldn't want to work for a company where the CEO hands out virtual heart emojis during the quarterly review? ????

2024 is the year of love in the boardroom, and it's about time we embrace it. So, grab your business casual heart-shaped sunglasses and join the movement. Let's turn those virtual high-fives into virtual bear hugs! ????

Remember, when in doubt, lead with love. Because, as the saying goes, "Love makes the world go 'round, and your stock prices too!" ????

Stay cheeky, stay loving, and bring that warm fuzzy feeling to your next board meeting. Who says business can't be heartwarming? ???

Great article Sharon. Bringing love to the workplace definitely feels uncomfortable but one of my favourite books ‘Love and Work’ is based on research so I am going to lean into how it can be applied in a good way at my work.
