Recently, the Enovis Surgical team brought our philosophy of ‘creating better together’ to life through a collaboration with our healthcare partners that supported an important medical mission in India.
Volunteering their time and expertise, Enovis orthopedic surgical partner Dr. Srinath Kamineni of University of Kentucky HealthCare and his Enovis surgical representative Connor Hill traveled to Vijayawada, a city in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh, India, to conduct shoulder arthroplasty surgeries on patients who would normally not have access to doctors capable of completing these procedures.
Dr. Kamineni and Connor conducted several different types of cases, including AltiVate? Reverse Total Shoulder arthroplasty and CS Edge? Anatomic shoulder surgeries with all implants donated by Enovis at a facility that funded the costs of the patients’ care. Dr. Kamineni leads this mission biannually and plans on conducting critically needed hip and knee surgeries in the future using Enovis products and solutions.
“It was a life-changing experience being able to represent Enovis in India and conduct the first AltiVate Reverse and AltiVate Anatomic Shoulder procedures in this country on such special patients,” explained Connor. “I was thrilled to be able to share my knowledge alongside Dr. Kamineni and educate the staff about how we do things back home in the States. The entire trip made me appreciate how Enovis’ collaboration with healthcare professionals helps improve patient outcomes and I’m humbled I was able to contribute.”
