Plan
As well as reducing the number of workstations spread across the eighth and ninth floor of the building, the existing floorplan was reimagined to foster a more agile space. Traditional working areas and closed offices feature alongside the installation of informal meeting areas, private phone booths for telephone and video calls, as well as a hotdesking zone, and quiet room.
Breakout and socialising space was key too, with QBE looking to further emphasise the importance of colleague-friendly break rooms encouraging screen breaks and space away from the hustle and bustle of the working environment.
Align
Delivered in eight weeks, the upgraded space features fresh surface finishes, decoration and wall graphics, as well completely new flooring – including vinyl and carpet – which is used to differentiate between the various areas of the office.
Bringing the Italian HQ in line with the company’s wider brand identity, Agilité Solutions also handled the procurement of a range of standard and custom-made furnishings, acoustic fabrics for environmental comfort, new lighting, mechanical, and electrical systems.

Communicate
To ensure QBE colleagues could continue to work from the office during the construction process, the delivery was split into two phases – while weekly meetings with the local QBE team and project design coordinator maintained complete transparency throughout the process.

The client really trusted us to bring the space to life, but also to uphold its sustainability credentials too, by allowing us to source a new home for the old furniture which would otherwise have been thrown away.”
