Bringing empathy and staffing help to frontline workers

When the coronavirus first started a couple of months ago this year, I was traveling in Singapore, Philippines, and China and personally witnessed the strong impact it had on the safety of people, on the economy and on families. As I was traveling back to San Francisco from China in mid-January, I was on a plane full of travelers wearing face masks and full of trepidation. I had personally felt and understood the impact of the coronavirus for the past few months and feel it is me and my team’s mission to play a part in this critical national emergency in America.

To share a story, I remember clearly hearing about a situation in which my friends’ parents who were both neurosurgeons were both called into the hospital to help with coronavirus screening and testing. Many of my friends who run companies in the healthcare or health screening space have also been forced to work 7 days a week and 18-hour shifts due to short-staffed clinics, a lack of manpower who were trained and ready to work, and a lack of hiring capabilities.

Many healthcare workers do not even have the time or capacity to take off their protective gear to go to the restrooms and end up wearing diapers so they can pee in them to save time, due to the overwhelming need to attend to patients quickly and do their best to save them. They do not even have lunch or food in order to save time as there is insufficient manpower to help those who are in need.

This is an important moment for all of us to work together to do our best and help hospitals and healthcare companies to be able to have the appropriate manpower and resources to take care of those who are in need and to nurse those who are unwell to get back on their feet. This is also an important time for screening and testing clinics to be well-staffed and trained so that screening and detection can be more efficient and help to let people know their health situation better.

Therefore, over this past weekend, me and my team have come together to come up with a contingency plan for all teammates at Workstream to come together to step up in our response to coronavirus and to help fellow human beings.

Immediate from today, Workstream will be providing free three months usage of our sourcing and hiring software for all hospitals, clinics, coronavirus screening and testing stations and companies.

We will rally together and help each of these institutions and organizations to leverage our text-based hiring technology and automation to quickly source, hire and onboard healthcare workers to be able to better source, screen and hire volunteers, workers and leaders in minutes and hours, instead of days and weeks. As a team, every streamer will also be all hands on deck to help out these clinics and organizations that may need help from us.

I will also be helping out to do my best. For all healthcare organizations, clinics, coronavirus testing stations and companies, please do email me at [email protected] or text / call me at 650-804-3747 if there’s anything that we streamers and Workstream can do for you.

This is an important moment to work together to make sure that we have the right infrastructure, human capacity, staffing and team to move forward. Let’s rally together and move forward!

Hourly workers face a uniquely tough trifecta now:? high need for ongoing paychecks? + can't WFH to look after kids with schools shut down + exposure to crowds (can't practice much social distancing) Here's wishing Streamers every tailwind in your mission to help this group.
