Bringing Community Together: A New Gathering Space at Louisville's Tyler Park

Schmidt Associates is honored to collaborate with Olmsted Parks Conservancy to bring their vision to life in Louisville’s historic Tyler Park! Thanks to a generous philanthropic donor, the park now features a natural performance stage designed to blend seamlessly into the surroundings and create a sustainable, accessible venue for music, theater, dance, and community events.

Key Features of the New Space:

• Three-tiered stone stage: Designed to cascade toward the park’s green, allowing for versatile performance setups and clear sightlines for audiences.
• Natural stone boulders: Integrated as seating and play elements, encouraging families to gather and enjoy the space in every season.
• Sustainable construction: Built with natural materials and minimal site disturbance to protect the park’s natural beauty and environmental health.

This project, which also includes enhancements to Tyler Park’s west entrance and bus stop area, stands as a testament to the Olmsted Parks Conservancy’s commitment to welcoming spaces where Louisville residents can come together, play, and celebrate.
