Bringing Back the Sizzle With Date Night featuring Coach Kim Kendall DeSilva (EP 65)
As parents, we are always looking for ways to provide our children with the best possible life. We make sacrifices and put their happiness and well-being above all else. In the process, it is easy to forget about the most important relationship in our lives - the one we have with our spouse or parenting partner. However, our children benefit when we have a strong, loving relationship with our partner. They feel safe and secure when they see that their parents are getting along and working together as a team. So, how can we make sure that we are keeping our connection strong? Below are just a few tips from Coach Kim Kendall DeSilva, who specializes in helping couples maintain healthy relationships.
1. Be Intentional and Committed:?It takes work to maintain any relationship, including the one with your spouse or parenting partner. You have to be intentional about making time for each other and maintaining communication. You also need to be committed to working through any disagreements or conflicts in a constructive way. If you are both on the same page about the importance of your relationship, it will be easier to make the necessary effort.?
2. Go on Dates:?Just because you are married and/or actively raising your children together doesn’t mean that you can’t go on dates! Plan regular date nights where you can focus on each other without distractions. This is a great opportunity to reconnect and keep the spark alive in your relationship.?

3. Communicate Regularly:?Good communication is essential in any relationship. Make sure that you are taking the time to talk about both the big things and the small things going on in your lives. Share your thoughts and feelings with each other openly and honestly. And, if you do have disagreements, always try to communicate respectfully.?
4. Seek Help If Needed:?If you feel like you’re struggling to connect with your spouse or partner, don’t be afraid to seek help from a professional counselor or therapist. They can provide guidance and support as you work to improve your relationship.?
It is so important for parents to maintain a strong, loving, and above all, respectful relationship with their spouse or partner. Our children benefit when they see that their parents are getting along and working together as a team. If you feel like you need some help creating this kind of family harmony, don’t hesitate to seek guidance from a professional counselor or therapist.
