Bring Your (Clinical) Data To Life

We're all going to have slightly different reactions to this graph:
The bottom line for me, however, is this:
Using data & analytics to improve health outcomes is the single greatest opportunity to reverse these trends.
Did you know that 30% of globally stored data is related to health care and life sciences?*
Earlier this month, I wrote a short blog on the difference between health insurance carrier reporting packages and smarter analytics. I mentioned that smarter analytics does three things for you:
(1) It measures the present,
(2) Anticipates the future, and
(3) Reduces avoidable costs.
The harvesting of clinical data can help identify employees who are at risk for chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and many, many more. Getting ahead of emerging health conditions for employees can help them avoid complications and costly health issues down the road.
As mentioned previously however, all the data in the world won't be of use - Unless you have the right people involved can bring this data to life.
Taking action with those that are anticipated to leap in risk and, thereby, cost before the claims hit your bottom line is the essence of bringing your data to life. It’s the very reason Apex has registered nurses, a clinical pharmacist, registered dieticians, and certified health coaches on staff.
