I'm going break it down for you, the three-steps you need to prepare to sell online. (and assuming you already own a product)
1. Setting Up an Online Infrastructure ??
First, build an online transactional page - this is where you host your products, and getting the customer to drop-by make purchases, payment and receive a confirmation.
There are several ways to build an online transactional page:
i) creating your eCommerce website - this option doesn't come cheap, but you would have full control over the customer's shopping experience.
ii) use/rent the third party platform, Exp: Shopify - there is a monthly subscription fee, and if your sales are good then should not be a problem.
iii) upload to Lazada / Shopee - paid a commission fee when the sale is made.
iv) FB / IG / WeChat - free to use, but all processes need to be done manually; the shopping experience is not as pleasant as others.
2. Drive Traffic into your transactional page ??
Seller now needs to drive massive traffics into your selling page. A transactional page without healthy traffic flow is useless.
You can do this by:
i) Running Ads (FB or Google Ads)
ii) Create massive contents (posts, videos)
iii) Referral System - people enjoy referral fees when they refer a customer to you.
iv) All the above
3. Follow-up mechanism ??
Not all people who visited your transactional page will immediately purchase something, so to increase the conversion rate, business needs to implement a follow-up mechanism.
i) re-target ads
ii) collect visitor email
iii) get visitors to like, follow or join your FB, IG or WeChat
iv) all the above
