Bring Your A-Game: Six A’s Every Proud Imperfectionist Woman Should Know

Let me share a personal truth: I used to think "having it all" meant doing it all. Endless meetings, countless milestones, every family event, every detail... Sound familiar?

Here's what I learned: Success isn't about superhuman effort—it's about human effort, applied thoughtfully. Each time I share these Six A's of Success, someone tells me, 'I needed to hear this today.' So here they are, refreshed and as relevant than ever.

?? 1. ASK - "If you don't ask, the answer is always no."

  • Men negotiate 4x more often than women
  • Every unasked question is a missed opportunity
  • Your request isn't "pushy"—it's purposeful → Start asking early, often, and unapologetically

?? 2. ADVERTISE - Gone are the days of waiting for gold stars. Your work won't speak for itself—you need to be its voice.

  • Keep "one-liners" ready about your wins
  • Share outcomes, not just efforts
  • Remember: Modesty is lovely, invisibility is limiting

?? 3. ASSERT - Ever had someone else voice your idea and get the credit? Let's change that.

  • Assertiveness isn't aggression
  • Your perspective has value
  • That racing heartbeat? It's proof you're alive, not unworthy

? 4. AUTHENTIC - Being someone else is exhausting—and doesn't come with benefits.

  • Know who you are
  • Stand firm in your values
  • Bring your real self to every table

?? 5. ABDICATE - You can't lead if you're drowning in tasks that don't serve your goals.

  • Master the art of delegation
  • Embrace the power of "no"
  • Focus on what truly demands YOUR expertise

?? 6. AFRAID - Fear isn't your enemy—it's often your compass pointing toward growth.

  • Do it scared
  • Keep your inner critic as a passenger, not the driver
  • Each step beyond fear expands your comfort zone

?? Key Takeaway: Success isn't about doing everything—it's about doing what matters. These Six A's aren't overnight solutions, but they're powerful tools for approaching each day with purpose and confidence.

?? Which "A" resonates most with you right now? Share your story below—let's learn from each other and keep this conversation moving forward.

Assert - it’s incredibly difficult to say “I think I just said that” when your contribution has been repeated by someone else and suddenly heard; but when someone else says “I think she just said that”, the validation builds trust and confidence. So, if you can’t say it for yourself (yet), speak up and say it for someone else. #payitforwards
