"Advocating for Change: How to Become a Voice for Employee Rights and Wellbeing"

By Neela Singh

The world is not a fair place to live in when most employees are having a hard time making ends meet.

This does not mean only big corporations with huge moneybags and fancy lobbyists should advocate. It is open to anyone who believes that all workers should earn a living wage, operate in safe environments, and have the chance to flourish professionally and personally. You do not need to be at the top management level or belong to any particular industry before you can play your part since there are countless ways one can contribute regardless of the position within the company.

Using your voice is one of the strongest weapons at your disposal to make a significant impact on people’s lives around you. Talk about the things that touch close to home, the things that affect both you and those around you. Whether it is demanding better medical coverage schemes for staff members or calling for more robust mental health support systems within organizations. Share stories on social media and in publications where policymakers and other concerned citizens can learn about these important stories and quickly take the requisite action. Join hands with groups that focus on advocating for all workers and their needs.

For instance, bodies like HR-4U INC work tirelessly behind the scenes to push for reforms at the highest levels. This is in addition to the work of creating awareness of good practices among companies and their managers to show exemplary leadership qualities. Partnering with these organizations will not only give prominence to your voice but also help gather additional resources and expertise needed to create an impactful grassroots movement.

You can give your time, skills, and voice to support the causes you are passionate about in a way that is meaningful and long-term.

Do Good. Be Kind. Spread Joy.

We can inspire change.
