It's go-time, people! Last year was just a teaser for what’s coming. We saw the early AI applications, the early adopters, the fast movers building applications mainly as a wrapper around ChatGPT.?
In the first round of the AI wave, what did we see? There were a small number of obvious winners. And then, the rest of the startups were throwing AI at problems they didn’t fully understand, lacking the distribution channels, and building on top of a fast changing technology. We saw lots of copycats, making it brutal to stand out and sustain growth.
But guess what? We’re just getting started. The game's changing, and it's changing fast.?
So, what’s next?
Next is AI Inside - I love this term used by NFX. In this phase established companies transform themselves with AI. They will make every function — from their operations to sales and services— 10 times better, faster, cheaper, and way ahead of what anyone else is doing.?
Forget the fancy AI startups for a second. We're zeroing in on everyday businesses you interact with. These are profitable businesses with existing customers and distribution channels. They will not sell AI; they use it as their secret weapon. These are your everyday businesses leveraging AI to maximize their operational efficiency, automate the sales and marketing, and take customer service to heights you didn’t think were possible. Gaining a competitive edge that’s hard to beat.
The companies that really got it, they started to play with AI, and guess what? If you’re not thinking about how AI should transform your business, you’re not just behind; you will be irrelevant.?
This is the moment, there will be a narrow window where you either jump on the AI train or you get left behind. The gap? It's about to get wild. The power law's in full effect, and it’s gonna stretch wider than ever.?
This isn't about 'if' anymore; it’s about 'how fast can you adapt.' It’s the lifeline for every single player aiming to stay relevant, competitive, and, frankly, in business.
