Brilliant racing fun at Snetterton 300! ??

We were pleased to be able to sponsor one of the Connect team, Jake Purnell, in his racing endeavours at the Snetterton 300 circuit in Norfolk last month. Jake took part in the Silverlake C1 Endurance Series where Citroen C1s do battle over a series of exciting and intense long distance races in a bid for club level endurance glory.

We caught up with Jake after he’d recovered from the event and he had this to say, “I had an incredible time at Snetterton this weekend for my stint in the C1 3-hour endurance race. I qualified 36th out of 48 drivers, but I felt super confident on the long straights and technical infield corners of Snetterton and was determined to climb the ranks. I managed to push us up to 23rd at one point in the race, navigating through some intense moments, including 5 cars abreast into a corner! Overall, I was really happy with my performance.

A single “stint” usually lasts until the car has used up a full fuel tank, or 45 minutes to one hour. The car felt sturdy after RAB Sport adjusted our camber and toe.

My team mate Paul took over next and put in some monster lap times. Unfortunately, on the lap he was called in, he crashed around turn one. Our incredible mechanics worked tirelessly and got the car back out with our final driver Ben behind the wheel. However, due to potential issues from the earlier crash, he had to retire the car after a few laps.
