Brilliant Is Back from the Brink
Brilliant, a maker of smart home control panels, has been revived following a difficult period marked by layoffs and halted sales. Now operating under the new name Brilliant NextGen, the company was acquired by Almeida Strategic Investments and Cullinan Holdings. The revamped Brilliant, led by former VP Lisa Petrucci, will focus on serving professional builders and custom integrators. It is preparing to launch an upgraded control panel with enhanced processing power and AI capabilities, while continuing to support existing products. Co-founder Aaron Emigh, now an advisor, expressed optimism about the company’s future under private equity ownership.
