Brighter Days Ahead
The advent of spring means brighter days ahead, both literally, with the time change this past weekend, and figuratively, with new events and developments to look forward to this month and beyond. Longer days, much-awaited in-person gatherings and the reduction of pandemic restrictions provide plenty of reasons for optimism.?
As I stated at the State of the City last month, Folsom demonstrated resiliency over the last few years and ultimately created a new definition of what community means.
While navigating the pandemic required a considerable amount of time, resources, and staff effort, we focused on attracting and retaining businesses in Folsom from everything from #FolsomStrongerTogether to Folsom Community Works, now helping our companies find employees to elevate careers.
In addition, our marketing business development team strategies have been refined to reflect the new normal and position Folsom for a robust recovery this upcoming year.??
The revolution in remote working and the expectations of quality of life that are so in focus right now are a perfect match for Folsom’s value proposition. Our new Choose Folsom website, to be rolled out later this month, embodies that with contemporary design and functionality.?

Greater Sacramento vs. the Bay Area?
You may have seen a recent article in the?Sacramento Business Journal?about how changing work patterns creates competition for our region against the Bay Area. Like Barry Broome and others quoted in the article, I see this as a positive development.?
Like a rising tide floats all boats, this shift will allow top talent that chooses Folsom to remain competitive in the marketplace, whether their employer is Folsom-based or not. It will also make Folsom a viable option for remote workers seeking the amenities, housing, and community that we offer.??
