Brighten a Life!

I overheard a teenager asking his mother, "Can I be honest? I really don't know why Diwali is celebrated. Yes, there is a reason behind it, but, why do WE celebrate it still? Is it still about the happiness that occurred years ago, or has it been happening purely out of tradition?"
We see so many beautiful places, homes, surroundings being lit up with the best of clothes, food and decor around us and everything looks so fascinating, that one at times tend to envy too!
And, I am one for sure who loves home decor to the core! But, as we do our bit to ensure everything looks exquisite, Diwali is also a chance, an opportunity to brighten someone's life as well.
SHARE what you own in abundance is what I've always believed and abundance does not have to be infinite always, the moment you realise that you have more than enough, that's your chance to offer it to someone who may feel good about owning it more than you could, because maybe you would treat it as an extra item in your household, but, for that individual, it could be a precious thing he/she has received during the festive season! Think about it.

Last year was demanding and had its own set of storms, in 2021 people are still trying to reach the shore to meet ends and offer basic amenities to their loved ones. Genuine, kind and helpful acts will only expedite their journey towards the destination. As human nature, one may oppose sharing by reasoning - what if I would need this in the future, what would I do then? Always know that things do come to us during the times we need them the most, think about moments where someone helped you out of the blue or you got the exact information you needed on the internet, or someone whom you didn't keep in touch with for ages turned out to be your saviour in challenging times, those are the times where the universe/karma takes care of you. It has and it will.
And now, it's time for you to be that someone for. . . anyone! During Diwali (and any time you can), no matter how tiny or major the sharing act may seem to you, if it is completely out of love, with no expectations in return, DO IT!
Next time when you cross the street, hand over a chai from the nearest store to that homeless person whom you come across every day but you decide to look away, do that one act of kindness and see how it illuminates your soul and someone else's life too!
Happy Diwali!
