The Bright Side of Fake Spring ??
Do you have “Fake Spring” where you live? Every year in the Pacific NW, Mother Nature gives us a 5-day respite from the rain and cold. This usually happens right around the time most of us are thinking of taking up permanent residence in Cabo: early March. This year, she did not disappoint. 5 days of glorious sun reminded me why we love it here and why we stay. It just so happened that Fake Spring coincided with the first veggie planting of the year. We’ve got kale, snap peas, microgreens, spinach, scallions, cabbage, and radishes trucking along under their row covers. Of course it’s back to rain now… probably for the next 3 months. But Fake Spring gave me that boost I needed to keep my feet firmly planted.
As a specialist, I like to go deep. And this time of year, I get to see how planting intentional seeds to germinate really starts to pay off. As we move from winter to spring, I see the natural world reflected in the work I do: clients breaking through the mud and stepping into the light. That’s not fake at all.
