Brief is Beautiful

By design, social media (websites and applications that allow people to share content quickly and easily) is all about being “brief”.
Because these days, brief is beautiful.
Relay your message in a clear and concise manner using less words rather than more. Sentences with 20 words (or more) are too long. People lose interest and tap out.
More = less audience. This brings us to long-winded paragraphs.
Bless their hearts. No one has time for them either. So, they’ve had to adapt. And reinvent.
Short paragraphs are easier to read, comprehend, and digest. They allow for more white space on the page. More white space gives the reader’s eye and brain less to contend with. Which is good. Keeps them interested and engaged.
You know what else keeps your audience happy? Thinking before you speak. Say what you have to say only when you have something meaningful to say. Gone are the days of posting three times daily, seven days a week. Make your less words and short paragraphs count by being just as concise and clever with your messaging.
Less messaging leads to more impact. Posting 3 times a week is the new rule of thumb, and it works with the most recent Facebook Algorithm.
But this thinking isn’t necessarily new. Francois Fenelon, French theologian, poet and writer, said as far back as the late 1600’s “The more you say, the less people remember.” So just make do with less.
To your success always,
Catherine
