Bridging the Skills Gap: Addressing the Mismatch between Education and the Job Market in Africa

As the CEO and founder of Zarttech , a HR Tech company focused on closing the unemployment gap by connecting talents to job opportunities mainly in the West, I recognise the importance of bridging the skills gap in Africa.

Through my years of business experience and research, I have come to realise that the lack of education opportunities and skills development is one of the primary reasons why Africa's economy is experiencing growth at a slower pace. Entrance to the Western job market is even more difficult, showing a need for a bridge between the work opportunities and the talent. As a result, I have made it my goal to use my findings and expertise to empower African youths with the right skills, training and initial job opportunities needed to compete in the global market- namely, in the Tech industry.

By investing in education and skills development, African youths can become competitive in the global market and contribute to the growth of their respective countries. This will also present opportunities for international cooperation and trade, where Africa can export its products and services to Western Europe and other developed economies.

I strongly believe that by investing in education and skills development in the tech industry, we can provide opportunities for the youths in Africa and drive economic growth on the continent. Through our innovative platforms, we aim to connect talented individuals with the right employers to bridge the unemployment gap.

Bridging the skills gap in Africa is crucial for the continent's economic growth and competitiveness in the global market. Our initiatives empower people in Africa to prioritise education and skills development to ensure that its youthful population is equipped with the skills needed for economic production. This will present opportunities for international cooperation and trade, benefitting both Africa and Western Europe in the long run.

Zarttalent was set up to do just this, with a women-first approach which sets us apart from other educational institutions. Committed to providing women with the tools they need to thrive in the tech industry and beyond, our goal is to educate 2,000 students in the next 5 years, helping boost local economies whilst preparing the students to seize and succeed in global opportunities.

It is clear to me that we must prioritise education and skills development to ensure that the current and upcoming generations in Africa are equipped with the skills needed for economic production and growth. We are committed to working with companies in the West to provide opportunities for African talents, creating a win-win situation for both parties.

In conclusion, at Zarttech , we strive to bridge the unemployment gap in Africa by empowering the youth with the right skills to compete in the global market. Our goal is to connect talented individuals with job opportunities in the West to drive economic growth in Africa. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for the continent.
