Bridging Generations: Is This the Key for a Restored Philippines?
Remember last month's exploration of the "New or Renew" dilemma? It's a global challenge, and the Philippines is no exception. Around the world, historic cities are grappling with aging infrastructure and the urgent need for sustainable revitalization.
In the Philippines, this challenge has fueled frustration, as outdated infrastructure and rampant urban development have led to overcrowding, traffic congestion, and environmental degradation, to name a few. Many believe that meaningful change is impossible without a complete overhaul of our government, leaving people to wonder if real progress can ever be achieved.
But at PALAFOX, we see things differently. We believe in shaping a country we dream of—a nation that stands tall alongside our Southeast Asian neighbors. Real transformation takes time, but by bridging generations, we can create cities and communities that honor our heritage while embracing the future.
As we commemorated World Architecture Day, we invested in the future by empowering and celebrating the next generation of Filipino change-makers:
EDGE Certification: Two of our talented architects, Ar.Gepo De Mesa and Ar. John Bugcat have recently achieved EDGE certification! Visit this link to learn more.
Environmental Planner: We extend our warmest congratulations to Ar. Menandro Ere?a, EnP for successfully passing the Licensure Exam in Environmental Planning! His expertise will be invaluable as we continue to prioritize eco-conscious design and planning in our projects.
Enriching Development: Palafox was honored to be represented by Ryan Dizon, EnP and Ar. Menandro Ere?a, EnP at the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR). Their participation underscores our dedication to building resilient communities that can withstand the challenges of a changing climate.
Engaging Future Leaders: We had the pleasure of connecting with aspiring architects at an event organized by the USCARS-UAPSA University of San Carlos with guest speaker Ar. Nat Laroa. PALAFOX was also a proud host to UAPSA-UP Diliman Chapter members. These engagements provided a valuable opportunity to share our passion for sustainable design and encourage the next generation to build a resilient Philippines.
At PALAFOX, our architecture services are rooted in the belief that great design connects past, present, and future generations. Guided by the principles of new urbanism, sustainability, and our unique Integral Ecology approach, we create spaces that honor the history of each site while envisioning a vibrant future.
Our diverse team of architects and designers approaches each project with a customized vision, taking into account the site’s unique attributes, our clients' goals, and the well-being of the community.
