Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Industry: Fostering Collaboration for Future Success

We are thrilled to share an exciting collaboration between Swavalamban Avam Swabhimaan Foundation (SAS Foundation) and Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) , aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry. Together, we have organized a series of enlightening lectures on Pharma 4.0, tailored specifically for DPSRU students. This initiative is set to revolutionize the way students prepare for their professional journeys and enhance their understanding of the dynamic pharmaceutical landscape.

The recent orientation lecture, delivered by esteemed speakers Dr. Nitin Saini and Jyotsana Sinha , shed light on the significance of this lecture series and the invaluable insights it holds for the students. Dr. Sachin Kumar , in his opening remarks, set the context for this transformative collaboration.

Dr. Nitin Saini , an industry expert, discussed the concept of "T-Shaped Learning," emphasizing the importance of a multidimensional skill set. The horizontal bar of the "T" signifies having knowledge about various aspects, while the vertical bar represents expertise in a specific field. Dr. Nitin Saini walked the students through the structure of the lecture series, providing a comprehensive overview of the topics and subtopics to be covered. He also highlighted the importance of attending this series and the immense value it holds for aspiring professionals.

Jyotsana Sinha , drawing from her rich experience in the Pharma sector, guided the students on the diverse career options available to them beyond research and medical representatives. She sparked their interest by exploring the possibilities within the IT industry, opening new doors for their professional growth.

The overwhelming response to the orientation lecture was a testament to the students' eagerness to learn and their determination to excel in their chosen fields. A total of 106 students attended, representing various stages of their academic journey:

• 45 students from the 1st year of B. Pharma
• 42 students from the 1st year of D. Pharma
• 10 students from the 2nd year of B. Pharma
• 4 students from the 1st year of M. Pharma
• 5 students from the 2nd year of M. Pharma

The diverse mix of attendees demonstrates the inclusive nature of this collaboration, catering to students across different levels of study.
