Bridge Design 2017

MSc2 elective for students Architecture, Civil Engineering and Industrial Design

This years' Master course on Bridge Design, the third in a row, was once again a big succes. Students were challenged to design footbridges and bicycle bridges on 5 different locations across the Rotte. Here is a brief overview off each teams work.

Xiaoyu Xu & Yinan Yu; a series of arches, under-tied arches and a swingbridge.

Nikki Fung & Thomas van der Geest; a cable stayed bridge with a solitary pylon.

Boris van Hattum &Christophe Ndayizeye; a dock and a cable stayed bridge in wood.

Gerben van den Oever & Yamal Daems; a neighborhood city bridge with refinement.

Marit de Groot & Julia Holtland; an inconspicuous design that blends into the reads.

My My Ngo & Tim Neeskens; a split arch that reaches out to nature

Boyuan Zhang & Roland Schagen; a bridge under a bridge, the urban blues.

Paul van Berkel & Thomas Liebrand; the blinking eye of Rotterdam.
