Bridal Trends you’ll love for 2023

5 bridal Trends we’ll be seeing everywhere in 2023

With a New Year and new season almost upon us, we’re all just dying to know what our brides-to-be will be wearing down the aisle. Luckily for us, we’ve just had a sneak peek into the world of next year’s fashion trends with runways around the world having just taken place. Whilst the runway showcased many timeless classics, we all know and love such as the strapless ballgown, A-line and even the mini wedding dress; it also showed new dresses that future brides to be should definitely be aware of. No matter your style or look there’s a dress for you to say – “I do” in!?

Bridal Separates?

Separates are back in a big way! Bridal suits are bigger and better than ever with choices for non-traditional looks becoming way more mainstream. Brides love how separates allow them to change their look up from day to night with minimal effort, plus there’s an added eco-benefit in being able to re-wear pieces from the wedding after the day itself. From power suits to skirts and tops there’s something to suit everyone when it comes to wedding separates.?There’s been a huge surge on the bridal scene for requests amongst trousers among bridesmaids (a rise of 150%) as brides like the idea of mixing silhouettes and shapes but keeping a uniform look too.?Have a peek at my Separates Collection?here.

Touches of Colour for your Wedding Dress

Who needs traditional anyway? There was plenty of colour off the runway this season with bridal designers embracing individuality with everything from subtle coloured hues to pops of colour in underskirts. Many designers chose pastel tones throughout 2022 but as we head into 2023 we are expecting bolder colours to be making their way onto the bridal trends scene. Paired with micro trends such as?ruffles?or florals, they are set to make a fashion impact!?

An impressive neckline

Many wedding gowns throughout 2022 bought back the vintage styled neckline – a bridal trend that is set to continue to be popular throughout 2023. For brides to be who don’t want to make a fashion statement, choosing this kind of neckline will keep their choice timeless.

However, we are set to see other necklines showing up on the wedding dress scene in a big way. Square necklines that sit on the shoulder and across the collarbone are giving us big 90s vibes and beautifully highlight the décolletage, shoulders and chest area. Whether you’re a fan of 90s silhouettes or just love that regency era this style will give you a romantic edge and suits most body shapes too.?

Asymmetrical necklines aren’t going anywhere and whether you feel like channeling a Greek goddess or you like to make a statement – this bridal trend is for you! This kind of styled neckline balances bodies out, keeping waists nice and synched in making it flattering to any body shape!

Another 90s comeback to bridal fashion, the straight neckline is also coming back and we can see why. It works with any aesthetic and style. A strapless straight neckline ball gown would give you a princess- like feel whereas a straight neck mermaid or sheath would certainly show the sexy side of you.?

Statement Veils

In 2023 we’ll be seeing more statement veils with 3D elements, sparkles, flowers, prints and pops of colour. Bridal trends are stepping away from plain tulle and making the veil its own masterpiece and something that is able to express the bride’s personal style and personality.?I love to edge my?custom veils?with the same lace elements of the bodice, or if it’s a plain fabric then a touch of pearl beadwork looks exquisite.?

Sustainable Bridal

Sustainability is something that’s hitting the fashion world hard and something I am very passionate about. My first option for new laces and silks is from another Australian Bridal Designer,?Anna Campbell, who has set up her business?Silk and Stitch?selling fabric overruns from her Collections. This helps our environment but reducing the need of producing new fabrics. Many modern brides place importance on being able to re-wear pieces from their wedding day attire and it was my main inspiration for my?Separates Collection.?

Many brides are opting to dye pieces after the wedding or have them remodelled into something else. Many brands are now featuring sustainable collections using high quality materials and high quality working conditions. Sustainable dresses come in simple silhouettes with elegant finishing touches. The key to sustainable fashion is being able to reuse elements again long after your wedding day. In the feature image you will see our JRW BRIDAL, Kate beaded bodice with the romantic soft tulle Kerry skirt, as featured in Holloway Bridal Magazine.
