BRICS CCI is a registered body under Societies Registration Act 1860, Government of India and empanelled with NITI Aayog and recognized by United Nations.
BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry has undertaken similar initiatives under the Swachh Bharat campaign.
Got to know various initiatives which Government of India is doing in various states of India and several people are earning lot of wealth and fame from waste.
Global waste epidemic can create wealth at every stage of the waste transformation cycle. There is need to identify, develop and deploy technologies to treat waste to generate energy, recycle materials, and extract resources of value. Every year the country produces a whopping 62 million tonnes of waste out of which 45 million tonnes of waste remains untreated.
Over 75% of the waste we generate is recyclable but we, in India, recycle just 30%. It is time for the nation to wake up and start taking waste management seriously because if this issue is ignored any further then by 2030 we will need a landfill as big as Bengaluru to dump all the waste.
